Color
I have never studied color or design, but I have worked with yarn, fiber and beads long enough to know what I like! Working with color is a very individualized process and everyone has different favorites, but I’ve found that most designers’ color choices, even if not intended, play by the rules. I didn’t know there were rules, until I discovered the color wheel.
According to the color experts, the three primary colors (red, yellow and blue) are pure and can be mixed to form secondary colors (green, orange and purple), which can be mixed with primary colors to form tertiary colors. Color schemes are usually based on analogous colors (colors next to each other on the wheel) or complementary colors (colors opposite each other on the wheel).
Most experts, including scientists, agree that there is some order to this, or “rules”
if you prefer. Even in nature, colors that “go together” create harmony, while clashing
colors create over-
