BEAD KNITTING - THE KNIT STITCH: For the knit stitch, always use a "twisted" knit stitch (knitting into the back leg of the stitch and bringing the yarn over the needle clockwise). To do this with a bead, insert needle through the back leg of the stitch, slide a bead up to within about a half inch of the needles, loop yarn around right needle from front to back (clockwise), forcing bead between needles. With your left forefinger, pop the bead between the needles and to the front of the work (right side). Pull completed stitch off the left needle).
BEAD KNITTING - THE PURL STITCH: Insert needle through the front leg of the stitch, to the front of the work (which will be the wrong side of the knitting) as in normal purling. Slide a bead up to within about a half inch of the needles. Loop yarn around needle from back to front, forcing bead between needles. With your left thumb, pop the bead between the needles and to the right side (front side) of work. Pull completed stitch off left needle.
